The City of London is notorious for being a maze of tube lines, bus routes, alleyways and Black Cabs. Getting from A to B is never as simple as it sounds. This article aims to break down the easiest ways of using public transport to get to the Saudi Arabian Embassy.
The Saudi Arabia Embassy is located at 30 Charles Street, London W1J 5DZ in the affluent area of Mayfair in the City of Westminster. The street was built as part of Lord Berkley’s estate development with most houses dating back to the 1750’s, many of the houses are now listed as English Heritage however the Saudi embassy is not one of these.
Firstly, a quick point on the London transport system. The tube, London Overground and National Rail services are divided in to zones. Most services operate in zones 1-6, with Tube, London Overground and National Rail also operating in zones 7-9. If you use a Travelcard on any of these services, it must be valid for every zone you travel through. Buses do not operate in zones and any Travelcard is valid for any bus journey within Greater London regardless of the zone(s) it covers. If your Travelcard includes Zone 3, 4, 5 or 6 you can use it on trams. You can use a Visitor Oyster card in any zones, but your fare will vary depending on which zones you travel in. The card automatically calculates the cheapest fare for the zones you use.
The easiest way to travel round London is on the Underground Tube system. The nearest station to the Saudi embassy is Green Park Station which is served by the Jubilee, Piccadilly and Victoria Lines and is a short 4 minute walk from the Embassy. Other close tube stations are Hyde Park Corner (Piccadilly Line, 8 min walk) and Bond Street Station (Central and Jubilee Lines, 9 mins walk). All the stations mentioned are in Travelzone 1 and fall under the Zones 1-2 price bracket.
The embassy can also be accessed through London’s bus system. Buses: 2, 10, 16, 36, 73, 74, 82, 137, 148, 414, 436 can all be used to travel to the Saudi Arabian Embassy.
This article will now break down the easiest public transport routes from London’s three biggest airports. From Heathrow travellers can take the Piccadilly line direct to Green Park Station with the journey taking 54 minutes. From Gatwick Airport to the Embassy travellers will firstly need to take the Southern line train to Victoria station, then take the Victoria line Tube to Green park station. Again this journey should be less than an hour. The longest journey is that from Stanstead and should take an estimated 1hr 2mins. From the airport travellers should take the Great Anglia train to Tottenham Hale then switch on to the Victoria line to Green Park station.
This handy guide should have you travelling with ease to the Saudi Arabia Embassy but should you run in to any issues Saudi Arabia Visa provides professional customer service for all its customers, assisting you from start to finish for all your passport and visa needs.
